Amaretti di Saronno, Lazzaroni

This variant is currently sold out

The Italian word "amaro" means "bitter," and as these little biscuits are flavoured with bitter almonds, they were called "amaretti". Made from either ground almonds or almond paste, along with sugar and egg whites, they can take on slight variations in form and flavour, often flavoured with chocolate or fruits.
These amaretti are crunchy (as per the Saronno tradition) and come in a vintage red box, each of them elegantly wrapped in colourful tissue paper.
Based in Saronno (the land of amaretti), Lazzaroni’s amaretti have become worldwide famous thanks to the high quality of the ingredients and the passion used in the production of these delicious biscuits.
Amaretti are traditionally served with dessert wines, liqueur or coffee, but they are also a delicious addition or ingredient in many desserts.
