Marrons glacés (candied chestnuts) are typical in the north of Italy and some parts of France and can be eaten as they are or used to make desserts.
Flamigni’s marrons glacés are made according to one of the first marron glacé recipes recorded in Turin in 1790.
The pieces of selected whole chestnuts from Campania are carefully steamed and peeled, then candied by hand.
Flamigni started in 1930 as a pastry and coffee shop in Forli, in Emilia-Romagna. Nowadays, their Panettoni and Torroni have become famous worldwide.
Enjoy a few pieces of marrons glacés with tea, coffee or hot chocolate; alternatively, you can use them to decorate festive desserts and homemade chocolates.
