Panforte is a must-have at Christmas in every Tuscan home; originally from Siena, panforte has been made in the region since Medieval times.
Essentially a dense fruitcake packed with almonds and spices, panpepato is enriched with an extra layer of aromatic spices. It is the oldest version of panforte, invented in the monasteries by monks.

The Masoni family preserves the tradition and taste of Siena sweets by using simple ingredients, high quality raw materials, a modern production process that retains its ties to the past, and most importantly, recipes passed down from generation to generation.
Served with a glass of sweet wine, panforte fichi e noci makes for a simple yet elegant end to any meal. It also pairs perfectly with a wide variety of cheeses from mild and creamy ones to more aged, saltier pecorino.
