Macine means "millstone" in Italian. These are traditional cream-flavoured breakfast biscuits, ideally accompanied by a steaming mug of milk.
The Mulino Bianco brand was born around the mid-70s, when Barilla decided to expand the range of products in its portfolio and to establish itself in new market niches. The idea was to create a line of products that evoked tradition and authenticity. The success was such, that in a short time Mulino Bianco became the first big bakery brand in Italy.
For a tasty breakfast we like to dunk 4 Macine in 125ml of milk and have some fresh fruit on the side. Great also with an espresso or cup of tea as an afternoon snack.
